Overview
MotoGP is the top class of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix, organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The first championship was held in 1949, making it the oldest and most prestigious motorcycle racing series.
The championship was originally divided by engine displacement (500cc, 250cc, 125cc). In 2012, the premier class was rebranded as MotoGP, using 1000cc four-stroke engines. From the 2024 season, new technical regulations were introduced.
